Andrew Corrigan MW has been fascinated by food and wine from a young age. He became a Master of Wine in 1997 after passing the rigorous exams of the London based Institute of Masters of Wine. Originally he gained a civil engineering Degree from Sydney University and has worked mostly in construction – his work taking him to live in various locations – Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Papua new Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, England and Hong Kong. He spent some years full time in the wine trade. He has been involved in restaurant ownership and management and has consulted on several award winning wine lists.
In later years he has kept up interests in construction as well as being a part owner of an Australian wine estate, Hidden Creek Winery and café, Granite Belt, Qld (www.hiddencreek.com.au) and the negociant wine brand “Catalyst” (www.catalystwines.com.au) and contributing columns on wine to magazines in Australia and abroad. He is known as an excellent wine educator and presents regularly in Australia as well as at international seminars for the Masters of Wine.
